Why Choose Coming Home to Your Body: Yoga Therapy for Healing & Acceptance?

Many approaches to healing focus on fixing, changing, or returning to who we once were. But Coming Home to Yourself: Yoga Therapy for Healing and Acceptance from My Vinyasa Practice offers a more compassionate, body-centered path—one that honors healing as a process of reconnecting with yourself exactly as you are. Part of the on-demand MVP Yoga Therapy series, this self-paced course integrates therapeutic yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and evidence-informed practices to support healing with gentleness, awareness, and self-compassion. You’ll explore how life transitions, physical changes, emotional experiences, and identity shifts can impact the nervous system, body image, and sense of self while learning practices that help restore safety, soften self-judgment, and cultivate deeper acceptance.

Samantha Ruiz

This course helped me reconnect with my body in a way I didn’t think was possible. After major life and physical changes, I felt disconnected from myself for a long time. The practices were gentle, grounding, and deeply compassionate. I finished each session feeling more accepting of where I am right now.

Jerome Dale

Coming Home to Yourself felt less like a yoga course and more like a space to truly breathe again. Michelle’s teaching style is calming, supportive, and incredibly inclusive. I appreciated how the course acknowledged the emotional and nervous system impacts of change instead of focusing only on movement.

Irene Taylor

I’ve taken many wellness courses, but this one stood out because of how human and approachable it felt. The blend of somatic practices, breathwork, and reflection helped me soften years of self-criticism. I now feel more connected to my body and more compassionate toward myself.

  • Image of a person sitting on their legs in hero pose, with their hands behind them in a bind. The photograph is taken from the back and the woman is wearing black leggings and tan yoga top. Her hair is piled in a soft bun. She is sitting on a dusty red yoga mat with a soft gray background and light wooden flooring.

Coming Home to Your Body: Yoga Therapy for Healing & Acceptance

If you’re learning to navigate a changed or changing body and longing for a space rooted in compassion rather than pressure, Coming Home to Yourself: Yoga Therapy for Healing and Acceptance offers gentle, supportive care for the whole person. This four-week experiential series is designed to help you reconnect with your body through therapeutic yoga, somatic awareness, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and compassionate self-inquiry. Rather than focusing on returning to who you were before change, this series invites you to rebuild trust with yourself as you are now.

Whether you are healing after surgery, adjusting postpartum, moving through weight changes, or honoring a body emerging from gender-affirming care, each 60-minute session provides trauma-informed and accessible practices to support healing, embodiment, and self-acceptance. Together, we’ll explore the mind-body disconnect that often follows physical change, gentle somatic practices to soften shame and reclaim body autonomy, breathwork and movement to reconnect with sensation and safety, and tools for cultivating a more compassionate relationship with your evolving form.

This is a space where all parts of your experience are welcome. Healing isn’t about becoming who you used to be. It’s about learning how to inhabit who you are now with tenderness, authenticity, and acceptance.

WHY COMING HOME TO YOUR BODY: YOGA THERAPY FOR HEALING & ACCEPTANCE?

Many approaches to healing after physical or personal change focus on “getting your body back,” pushing toward acceptance, or disconnecting from discomfort—but My Vinyasa Practice’s Coming Home to Your Body: Yoga Therapy for Healing and Acceptance offers a more compassionate and integrative path forward. This course blends modern nervous system science with trauma-informed yoga therapy practices to support healing through the emotional, physical, and psychological layers of embodiment. Rather than trying to fix or override your experience, you’ll learn how to reconnect with your body gently and safely, honoring it as it is today. Through therapeutic movement, somatic awareness, breathwork, meditation, and embodied education, the course supports nervous system regulation, body trust, emotional processing, and self-compassion.
